Full Truckload | Additional Information

Full truckload \ FTL shipping refers to the use of a dedicated truck to move a shipment from source to destination. It can apply to both refrigerated equipment and dry vans.

Dry Van – Typically used when the freight that is being transported doesn’t need to be kept within a specific temperature range. Shelf-stable products are great candidates for this type of equipment.

  • Equipment size – 53’ or 48’
  • Door types – lift gate, roll up, and swing

Refrigerated \ Temperature Controlled (Reefer) – Typically used when transporting goods that must be kept at a specific temperature to prevent spoiling or to protect temperature sensitive freight. This option should be considered when transporting perishable food and beverage products or freight that must be protected from environmental conditions.

Full truckload shipping is commonly used when a shipper has enough freight to fill an entire trailer, but that isn’t the only scenario for this option. There are many benefits of opting to ship even smaller shipments by full truckload over other methods. Click here to learn more about LTL shipping options.
